american single mindedness

Recently I tried to enter into a civil dialogue with an American who seemed to think he was intellectual. He writes a blog called Think Sink and seems fairly extreme in his Right Wing, Christian extremist, high moral ground.

My comments on his blog were initially deleted, as I was obviously too offensive when I questioned his staunch opposition to Bill CLinton, yet his hardline support as a Bush apologist.

Here's his latest response.

Jeff H from Think Sink gets all intellectual on Jimmy's ass.

Drop this fascist a line if you feel so inclined. I cannot stand this one eyed political crap so popular in the US. I am a lefty, but I won't vote for any idiot just because he or she is a lefty too.

how can one side be 100 percent right all of the time?

politicians should be made to act more like our (common people's) employees, and not our rulers.

the war criminal GW Bush, is another story. he is in favour of capital punishment, and for his crimes he deserves it.

Yeah, Jeff from 'think-sink'(with the caption "think sink - thoughts go in, nothing comes out", couldn't have put better myself) is not too receptive to alternative points of view. I offered a comparison of the accumulated evils of the last two american presidents, and Jeff was none too pleased. See, I thought that bill clinton screwing an intern wasn't a criminal offence, that it became a crime (perjury) when he lied about. (if you had to answer to Hilary, you might lie about it too), but this wasn't that significant when compared to george jr. illegally invading and occupying Iraq. One got 'a bit on the side' (or it may have been on the desk...), the other started a war/massacre I didn't think there was much contest. Finally something george is good at, getting people killed.

Can anyone remember the reason why the americans (+ stooge allies) went to Iraq, and reconcile that with anything that has happened since the invasion. The reasons for invasion: there was something about 'weapons of mass destruction', something about terrorism... it all gets a bit hazy trying to pin-down the exact reasons for something trivial, like killing people. There was no weapons, the world's no safer, there was no point to invading Iraq.

Back to Jeff at think sink, I'm banned from commenting on his site, according to jeff, the site is 'private property'. Other people can post comments on his site, they are able to because they sycophants: endorsing Jeff's bigoted views and applauding his clumsy jokes, debate an issue and you're out. I was polite (at least to start with), I believe the matter that got me banned was asking 'would I be banned if I disagreed with him on something, (like everybody else who disagreed)?'. The abuse came after that, we have a daily ritual of exchanging insults via email(it's funny being abused by someone who thinks that 'to be a christian, all you got to do is not cus none', so instead of telling me to 'fuck off'; which he obviously wants to, I get "get lost" a lot, which is ok, because telling someone to 'fuck off' really lacks imagination).

The frightening thing is how prepared Jeff is for banning people, if you go to leave a comment from a computer with a banned IP address, you get this specially made-up screen (with his ugly mug on it) informing you, that 'you're banned, and that you can't leave a comment'. The guy must get really tired of how he's always right, and the rest of the world is so wrong

I feel suitably rebuked. What an intelligent and thought provoking comment "Anonymous". At least you can spell, I suppose.
