Goats!

Goats!

They just don't get enough headlines, do they?

Fear not my smelly, resilient and unappreciated Ovine friends. I have compiled a list of stories either dedicated to, or intimately (he he) involving the noble Goat.

I want this to contain something for everyone, but I'd like to start with tears and sadness. Skip to the next link if you cannot stomach the suffering of animals, however the story must be told.

Goats suffering and dying.

"More than 200 Goats suffocated to death in an overturned livestock trailer near San Francisco because police would not let their herder free them, their owner says."
This reminds me of our own dilemma over the live sheep trade. It is not nice, but people have no regard for livestock, treating them as items rather than life forms.

Goats helping people

"Goats uncover WWII howitzer round"
Goats used for clearing land around a US army base uncovered live rounds that could have hurt somebody.

But, here's the kicker. The Goats that died were "vegetation management" Goats. That is, they were Goats that helped people.......

And remember this one?

Sudan man forced to 'marry' Goat (her name was Rose)

"A Sudanese man has been forced to take a Goat as his "wife", after he was caught having sex with the animal."

I have a sad update. The Goat rooter is now a widower.

Married Sudanese Goat dies.

Finally.......

Hollywood actor Steve Zahn, loves Goats, but not in a Sudanese way.

Disclaimer: If you are looking for more information on the Sudanese Goat or the American guy who was caught a couple of years ago molesting a Goat next to train lines, please learn from my experience and DO NOT type "Goat Bestiality" into Google.
